My name is Sophia Lorimer and I’m a personal stylist.
I founded Fine-tuned Wardrobe in 2019 because so many women have lost control over how they look.
Those women include me.
OK, that may sound odd coming from a personal stylist. I’d better explain. Can I take a moment to tell you how I got here?
Why I became a personal stylist
I’ve worked in fashion since forever. Back in the day, I followed every trend and bought all the stuff, all the time. The wardrobe was my happy place.
Then I had my daughter and life changed. I was a different person, with a strange new body which I didn’t know how to dress. I’d lost my sense of identity and no longer felt good in my clothes.
It took time (and expert help) to accept and embrace my new self. Now, I want to empower other women to accept, love and dress themselves gorgeously as they are — because that’s what helped me.
It’s not about the latest fashions. This is about finding an authentic, unique style which brings you joy every day.

Sustainability and personal styling
As you know, the fashion industry isn’t great with sustainability. It’s responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions — more than international flights and maritime shipping combined.
It’s easy to feel powerless when you’re up against such a huge problem.
Actually, you can join me in doing something about it.
Rather than adding to wasteful overproduction, let’s repurpose and restyle clothes you already have with a wardrobe makeover. Instead of buying new, I can show you how to source high-quality pieces already in circulation.
You can also help me make other people’s lives easier. I donate unwanted clothes to communities who will benefit from them — the homeless, and women rebuilding their lives in women’s’ shelters.
By doing that, the world is a better place.
Since founding Fine-tuned Wardrobe, I’ve won a few awards for personal styling. They include Lifestyle Service of the Year Award, and Muddy Stiletto Best Women’s Fashion Award.

A quick word about colour
You’re probably wondering about colour analysis. Will I tell you which colours to wear, and which colours you should never wear?
I won’t. And I’m aware that I’m going against the grain here. Because here’s the important thing:
If you love a particular colour, and it brings you joy, then go ahead and wear it with confidence.
I will never issue orders or make rules, because it’s my job to put the power into your hands. It’s all about how clothes make you feel.
